Kristof Boermans

In this brief interview, we get a glimpse into the life of Service Center Employee Kristof, a dedicated Algeco colleague for over 16 years and a loving father. Besides his professional commitment, Kristof also has a colorful life outside of work, filled with cherished moments and passions.

With two sparkling daughters aged 16 and 5, Kristof experiences the true joy of parenthood. But that is not all that defines him. In his free time, he finds relaxation at his favorite football club, Racing Genk. Moreover, he cherishes moments of peace and relaxation, whether it's in his garden where he enjoys working or during a vacation period spent with his loved ones.

How would you describe your role as Depot Employee/Teamleader in modular construction?

As a depot employee in the modular unit industry, I play an essential role in the logistics process of modular units, also known as prefabricated or modular buildings.

As team leader of the Sanitary (New Sales) department, I am responsible for all operational processes related to preparing and delivering the modular sanitary units.

Specifically, this means that our six-member in-house team will systematically install the requested sanitary services such as sinks, showers, and toilets according to the plan.
After final inspection on my part, the unit gets the green light to proceed to the next stop in our depot.

Because sustainability is strongly woven into our DNA, we strive to recycle our units as optimally as possible. This often means that we have to create a completely new unit layout from a non-standard unit configuration. This process requires some insight and creative approach, which makes the job very challenging and enjoyable.

What qualifications do you think are necessary to perform the job well?

As a depot employee in the modular unit industry, you contribute to an efficient delivery of high-quality modular buildings, allowing customers to quickly benefit from these modern construction solutions. To perform this job properly, the following qualifications are necessary:

Organizational skills and attention to detail
Basic knowledge of warehouse management and logistics processes
Understanding of safety procedures related to warehouse work
Physically able to lift and move heavy objects
Good communication skills and a team player

What makes your workday a perfect/successful day?

For me, a workday becomes a perfect and successful day when I experience a sense of fulfillment and productivity. This means that I have successfully completed my tasks and responsibilities and contributed to the team and the organization. Seeing concrete results from my efforts gives me a sense of pride and motivates me to continue my work at a high level.

How would your colleagues describe you?

If I were to ask my colleagues how they would describe me, I expect they would say that I am someone who can remain calm in stressful situations and doesn't get easily flustered, allowing me to respond more effectively and tackle problems in a rational manner.

Which department would you like to work in again?

If I had to change jobs for a day, I would love to take on the role of project leader. This would give me the opportunity to practically explore how everything works on the client site.

I would also be able to make optimal use of my skills, be challenged in a dynamically changing environment, promote sustainable construction practices, and collaborate with a top team. It is a position that inspires me, and that is exactly why I would pursue this role.
